Safeguarding Children and Young People
All children and young people visiting or engaging with the Australian Sports Museum and MCG Tours, managed by the Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC), have the right to feel and be safe, respected, valued and protected from harm.
The MCC is strongly committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people within the Australian Sports Museum and the MCG as well as through engagement in our programs. We aim to create enriching experiences for young patrons and want children to feel safe, happy and empowered by their connection to the Australian Sports Museum and MCG.
We create and maintain a child safe environment. The welfare of children and young people is a top priority, and we have zero tolerance for child abuse or any behaviours that threaten the safety and wellbeing of children.
We are committed to the principles of cultural safety of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, culturally and linguistically diverse children, and to the safety of children with a disability. We recognise that these support the safety of all children. We recognise that acting to protect and maintain the safety of children is a responsibility of all staff members, and we foster a culture of openness that supports all people to safely disclose risks of harm to children.
The MCC will take all necessary steps to prevent and protect children from physical, sexual, emotional, psychological, and cultural abuse and neglect. This includes protecting children from other children and patrons.

Raising a concern
Hear something, see something, then say something.
If you hear or see something that makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, it’s ok to tell a trusted person.
You can tell someone who works at the MCG or someone else like your parents, a teacher or other trusted person.
We will always take what you tell us seriously no matter who or how old you are. We want to make your visit a safe and fun experience so please let us know.
