Yes! You must pre-purchase your ticket prior to arriving at Gate 3 of the MCG.

This is to ensure that visitor numbers are managed to create a COVIDSafe space for both visitors and staff. Bookings are essential, you can purchase your ticket here.

Yes! All our MCC Members receive a 20% discount for the Australian Sports Museum.

Help! I’m not feeling well, can I get a refund on my ticket?2021-03-11T12:45:30+10:00

Yes! If you, or an immediate family member appears to be unwell and is showing known symptoms of COVID-19 – including cough, chills or sweats, sore throat and/or shortness of breath – you need to bow out and opt to reschedule for another time.

Are MCG Tours running as normal?2021-03-24T09:53:45+10:00

MCG Tours are back 7 days a week, except for Good Friday, Melbourne Cup and Christmas Day public holidays. In addition to the public holidays, operating hours vary when the MCG holds an event. Click here to check event days.

MCG Tours operate from 10am with the last tour leaving at 3pm. Book your experience here.

Are there any food and beverage facilities open inside the MCG?2021-03-11T12:51:51+10:00

Yes! The Paddock Café is open between 10.00am to 3.30pm. Presented in a bright and comfortable space that offers wonderful views over the iconic MCG turf, Paddock Cafe is a celebration of the lighter side and history of the MCG.

It is located inside Gate 3, right next to the Australian Sports Museum.

Face masks, physical distancing, what are the rules when visiting?2021-03-29T14:44:48+10:00

The Australian Sports Museum and MCG Tours will be adhering to the current Victorian Department of Health and Human Services guidelines.

When visiting the Australian Sports Museum and/or take a MCG Tour, we ask you to abide by the Rules of Play.

  1. Clean hands! Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene by washing your hands regularly and using the hand sanitiser stations and wipes provided throughout the museum and tour route.
  2. Protect the head. Face masks are no longer required to be worn in the Australian Sports Museum and on a MCG Tour, either by visitors or tour guides. Visitors and tour guides may voluntarily wear a mask and it is recommended that they are worn when physical distancing of 1.5 metres can’t be maintained from other people.
  3. Stay at least a couple of cricket bats apart. Please remain at least 1.5m apart from anyone who isn’t in your household. Please follow the floor targets to assist in physical distancing.
Can I cloak an item upon arrival at the Australian Sports Museum?2021-03-11T12:30:10+10:00

Yes, cloaking is available for both the Australian Sports Museum and MCG Tours. Our wonderful staff will be able to assist you when arriving at Gate 3.

How will the Australian Sports Museum be contact tracing?2020-11-19T09:30:56+10:00

Upon arrival and exit of the Australian Sports Museum, patrons will be required to scan a QR code for contact tracing purposes. Enabling us to be informed of your exact movements. This data is captured in accordance with MCG Privacy Policies and will be disposed of after 28 days, as outlined by the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services. After this time, all records will be deleted.

What measures and standards of cleaning are in place to keep the public safe?2020-11-17T10:37:40+10:00

The Australian Sports Museum’s highest priority is to ensure the continued health and safety of visitors and staff. We have implemented measures to assist in physical distancing, increased personal hygiene and cleaning in line with the latest Victorian Government and Department of Health and Human Services guidelines.

This means that all communal or shared equipment within the museum will be disinfected and cleaned between every use.
